Some Themes to be Explored
God and Idols, Life and Death, God and Satan, Love and Hatred, Faith and Unbelief, Right and Wrong, Sin and Obedience, Reality and Fantasy, Freedom and Slavery, Thought and Distraction, Marriage and Divorce, Strength and Weakness, Happiness and Sadness, The Church and the World, Biblical and Worldly Worldviews
Purpose
I desire to Explore and Express in summary statements some of the themes I find in the Lyrics of Bob Dylan's poetic songs. I hope someday to include a comprehensive Index of Topics and a Thematic Index of Theological Ideas expressed in his writings.
I do not want to detract from or destroy in any way his works of art. But, I desire to give them careful thought in order to gain greater understanding and appreciation of his expression of ideas, many of which I already hold as personal convictions.
I hope to help others see the beauty and power of his lyrics and the power expressed in his vocal arrangements. Through his giftedness, I believe, people who actually listen are being moved toward a life that is more heart felt and expressive; and that captures the experiences we face in the community of humanity to create a more enriching and fulfilling future life together.
